Where are some good mountain bike trails?

Question by imthewalruss: Where are some good mountain bike trails?
I'm not a hardcore rider. I live and work in Deer Park and Pasadena, respectively. When I lived in Houston I always went to Memorial Park but now that would be quite a daily trek. I've tried searching multiple websites including ghorba.org and there just doesn't seem to be any links for bike trails other than the obvious ones (memorial and ant hills). I'd really like to find some closer to where I live, on the southeast side. Riding my bike through winding, wooded trails is, hands down, one of my favorite things to do. I'm discouraged by the lack of information out there or the lack of rider-friendly trails in general. Any ideas?
I'm located in Houston, TX area.

Visit or call a few bike shops. They may have the info if anyone there is into bike riding and not just retail sales. They also may know of nearby cycling clubs.
