  1. Thanks for the video!! we have to be thankful to these guys who invented this amazing sport.

  2. what??? nah !! pure mtb is practice it in real mountains or forest, etc. now days downhill tracks are “man made”, stairs, streets and that’s why we have so many x-bmx racers owning the champion ship, sucks, mtb was cool back in the 90’s.

  3. Respect to those mtb pioneers. Fortunately I lived that experience in Marin County and Portolla valley, another vintage mtb area i rarley hear of in 88, 89.
Some years later, but still “vintage mtb”.

  4. Those rigs and no Lids for their heads. Brave? Crazy? Awesome!!

  5. no need for exclusivity. it’s an aspect. a cool one. but plenty of folks who MTB don’t do DH.

  6. They were pretty hardcore back then, all riding ridged single speeds =P

  7. i live in marin, not much places to ride anymore

  13. I made a short tribute film to the late John Finley Scott for his induction into the MTB Hall of Fame at InterBike. I will post it here shortly.

  14. The late Prof. J.F. Scott’s induction into the MTB Hall of Fame on Sept. 24th during InterBike. Professor Scott, or ‘Finley’ to his friends, was a fascinating man and a tireless advocate of all things cycling.

Prof. Scott was also the first investor in the first mountain bike company in the world, cleverly called MountainBikes. I hope to see you at The Sands Expo Center, Casnova Room 503, at 6:00 pm.Sept. 24th 2008

  27. @Grandpa1986 mass sterilization and genocide are required. It is impossible to control many people, the number must be reduced. Many atheist leaders understood that. >:)

  28. @WarmongerWW3 Pretty dim view my WW3 friend. If your going to be a robot and base human life on material merit or atleast ability to sustain it’s own life or bring any society/civilization/village!?! or benefit other then emotional connection to family & friends (if any); there are a lot of humans whose lifes have little meaning or purpose or connection. and we might as well kill most of africa, parts of india/china & some of middle east/east europe and a little of our own western world.SURELY!?!

  36. 21st century:
1 in 6 people suffer from chronic hunger (FAO).
1,345 million people live on $1.25 a day or less (World Bank).
The largest investor in education is a poor country (Kiribati – 17.80% of GDP on education).
The world is investing more in education than ever before.
The world is producing more food than ever before.
The world has more poverty than ever before.
The solution to poverty is not education.

The solution to poverty is mass sterilization and genocide.
