Jaunt down river gets the heart pumping as fast as the whitewater
On July 24, News-Herald staffers Brandon C. Baker and Jason Lea rafted the whitewater of West Virginia's New River, where furious rapids are formed by the state's mountainous landscape, rainfall and rocky rivers. It was Brandon's inaugural rafting trip. Jason filled the role of de facto veteran, with slightly more experience. Here are their dual and dueling narratives.
